On Pregnancy, Birth & Postpartum:
-
All births are natural, no matter who or what is involved.  Each birthing person writes a new, unique story of birth every time a child is brought into this world.  People give birth themselves, hopefully with an amazing support crew nearby, regardless of what the birth story is and how the baby is born.  People who become pregnant are brave, powerful, beautiful and incredibly selfless.  They deserve full ownership of their unique stories, and they deserve to be heard.  Every birth is beautiful and one-of-a-kind, just like every woman is beautiful and one-of-a-kind.
-
Every single individual who becomes pregnant deserves constant support, empowerment and authentic empathy and compassion no matter who he/she/they is/are and no matter what the circumstance or situation.  Every person is entitled to explanations, education and transparency throughout pregnancy, birth and the postpartum phase.  There is no ‘one right way’ to experience pregnancy, to give birth, to go through postpartum or to be a parent.  All those who provide services and support relating to pregnancy, birth, postpartum and women’s health and wellness in general should always serve and inform with pure integrity and honesty with intentions to support, guide and educate free from judgment and with the individual’s true wants and needs in mind and at heart.

On Exercise:
-
Our bodies are beautifully complex and perfectly designed for all sorts of different forms of movement.  Commitment, dedication, hard work, mindfulness and consistency are all you need to keep moving.  Add training specificity and designated recovery, and the opportunities and potentials are infinite.  We don’t have to exercise, we get to exercise, and what a beautiful gift that is.
-
Move to achieve your fitness goals.  Move to build confidence.  Move to increase blood flow and lubricate your joints and tissues.  Move to improve mobility and strength.  Move to decrease risks for injury.  Move to stimulate the release of endorphins.  Move to improve your mood.  Move to reduce your risks for chronic diseases.  Move to better influence future generations.  Move so that your loved ones want to move too.  Move to contribute to decreasing rates of obesity and poor health.  Move to aid digestion.  Move to avoid the risks a sedentary lifestyle brings.  Move to improve your heart health.  Move to help your baby grow and develop.  Move to improve your chances for a smooth labor and delivery.  Move so that you feel better and recover quicker postpartum.  Move so that you’re more prone to making better nutritional choices.  Move to enhance the quality of your sleep.  Move with others to build community and feel a sense of belonging.  Move outside to see the world.  Move to learn new things your body is capable of.  Move to feel powerful.  Move every day.

On Nutrition
-
The quality of every breath we take, every move we make and every thought we have depends on what we consistently fuel our bodies with.  Our bodies depend on us to make the right nutritional choices in order to develop and function properly, and our children, both born and unborn, certainly depend on this as well.  Achieve optimal health by mindfully consuming high quality, unprocessed, nutrient-dense, safely sourced, colorful whole foods as consistently as possible while allowing yourself the occasional sweet treat, glass of wine or spicy margarita when you really want it.  Mindfulness, balance and moderation are crucial.  Live in the moment and embrace the joys of foods and drinks from different places and different cultures with the ones you love most while always considering that you have one body in this life.  It is yours, and it deserves to be fueled like it’s the most important thing you own.
